Hardem Eyewear Canada is the Canadian arm of Hardem, an Argentinian-designed eyewear brand offering fashion-forward sunglasses and optical frames.

The store focuses on acetate frames with polarized UV400 lenses and a genderless, ageless design. In addition to direct-to-consumer sales, the business promotes B2B opportunities for Canadian retailers and offers a corporate gifting program with custom-branded packaging and concierge support.

This usually happens for two reasons:

The Bridge is too wide: If you have a flatter nose bridge, look for "Asian Fit" or "Low Bridge Fit" frames, which have larger nose pads.

The Temples (Arms) need curving: A quick adjustment at an optical shop to "hook" the arms more securely behind your ears usually solves this.

With proper care, a high-quality frame (Acetate or Titanium) should last 2 to 3 years of daily wear.

Acetate: Can be buffed and polished if it gets dull.
Metal: Can be re-aligned easily.

Usually, people replace them because their prescription changes or they want a style refresh, not because the frame broke.

Yes, unless you like eye sunburns.

Think of it like sunscreen for your eyeballs. If you blast your eyes with intense sun for even a few hours, you can get "photokeratitis" (red, teary, and painful).

Exposure can cause temporary vision loss, extreme light sensitivity, and physical pain. High-quality UV400 protection (the standard for every pair of Hardem frames) is the best way to effectively block these harmful rays.

Basically, if you’re outside, wear them.

Don't let a cloudy or snowy day fool you; UV rays are sneaky and cut right through the overcast.

Fun fact: Winter can actually be harsher on your eyes because snow reflects about 80% to 90% of UV light back at you. It’s like being in a giant, cold tanning bed.

Whatever looks good to you!
As long as they have 100% UV protection, the color is mostly a vibe choice.

Grey: Keeps colors natural (perfect for everyday wear).
Green: Levels up your contrast.
Brown/Amber: Great for depth perception (golfers and drivers love these).

Technically, yes, but don't panic.

The coating can degrade after years and years of heavy sun exposure. If your favorite pair is a decade old and covered in scratches, the protection might not be what it used to be.

Besides, styles change treat yourself to a fresh pair every few years just to be safe.

Avoid using your shirt or paper towels, which contain tiny fibers that can scratch the coatings.

Use a drop of lotion-free dish soap or a dedicated lens spray.

Frames are often made of materials that can warp slightly over time due to heat or pressure.

Most optical shops offer free or low-cost frame adjustments where they use specialized heat tools to realign the temples and nose pads to your face.

Oversized is a classic look, but there is a limit.
A frame is too big if:
- Your eyebrows are completely hidden inside the lens area.
- The frames touch your cheeks when you smile (this causes fogging).
- Your eyes aren't centered in the lenses.
Ideally, the frame should be roughly the same width as your face at the temples.

No. The color or darkness of the lens has nothing to do with UV protection.

UV protection comes from a clear chemical coating applied to the lens.

All Hardem sunglasses are polarized with UV 400, which blocks all light rays with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers.

Polarized lenses contain a special filter that blocks intense reflected light (glare) from horizontal surfaces like water, snow, or roads.
All Hardem sunglasses are polarized with UV 400, which blocks all light rays with wavelengths.

Polarized: Best for driving, fishing, and skiing. They reduce eye strain and improve clarity.

Non-Polarized: Better for viewing digital screens (like GPS or phones), which can sometimes appear black or distorted through polarized filters.

Glass: Offers the best optical clarity and scratch resistance but is heavy and can shatter.

Plastic (CR-39): Lightweight and affordable, with good optical quality.

Polycarbonate/Trivex: Highly impact-resistant and thin. These are the gold standard for sports, kids, and safety eyewear.

While it is a common industry standard and not a strict rule, the general approach is to choose a frame shape that contrasts with your face shape

Round Face: Angular, square, or rectangular frames to add definition.
Square Face: Round or oval frames to soften strong jawlines.
Heart Face: Bottom-heavy frames or light-colored frames to balance a wider forehead.
Oval Face: Most shapes work; just ensure the width is slightly wider than the broadest part of your face.

Usually, you will see three numbers separated by small dashes or squares (e.g., 52 - 18 - 140).

52mm (Lens Width): The horizontal width of one lens.
18mm (Bridge Width): The distance between the two lenses (where they sit on your nose).
140mm (Temple Length): The total length of the "arms" of the glasses.
